This is a logo that represents me as a designer, and it is also a very personal logo with my own characteristics.

CLIENT
Hi, I am my own client. My name is Yapu Jiang, and I am 22 years old. I am currently studying Visual Communication Design at the University of Canberra, and this is my last year of study. I will complete my undergraduate degree in 2020.
I am a very straightforward person, but my heart is fragile. In my inner world, I am a very gentle girl and very caring. I like 'Design' very much and hope to become an excellent graphic designer in the future.
Background
As a designer, I need a personal brand that can quickly let colleagues and future employers remember me. I need to be able to put forward a professional and well-considered personal brand across everything I do.
Challenges
There is too much content to express. I may be the person who knows Yapu Jiang best in the world. As a designer, I have too many things that I want to tell. For example, I hope that when people see my business card, they can know that I am a female designer. I also hope that the logo can fully reflect my characteristics, etc. But it isn't easy to summarize everything I want to express into one symbol.
Aim & Requirements
My goal is to come up with a logo that can represent myself as a designer. And I hope that I can combine what I want to express as much as possible.
Process
Because I have too much content that I want to express, I made a word mapping. I think it is also a kind of mood board. I write out all the content I want to tell, then highlight the words I want to express, and finally try to put them together.
These are sketches of my thoughts. Some based on the letters in the name and some are depictions of myself, such as my appearance, constellations, and my zodiac sign-tiger (Chinese zodiac signs just like 12 constellations, there are also 12 animals. Tiger is one of them)

Logo
This logo contains a lot of elements, a tiger, a girl with long hair, and pink. The reason for choosing the tiger is that I am a tiger. Tiger is one of the Chinese zodiac signs. People born in 1998 are all tigers. The other reason is that the tiger also implies bravery. I hope I can become braver and tough.
Judging from my appearance characteristics, the thing that people may remember most is my long hair, so I also incorporated this element into my logo. In this way, when people first see this logo, they can know that this is a female designer for the first time.
The reason why I choose pink is that I think pink gives me a gentle and warm feeling. And I also hope that I have always been a soft image in front of others. Another reason for choosing pink is that it is my favourite colour.

Results
I am quite satisfied with the creation of this personal brand, which is quite in line with my expectations. In this process, I didn't feel that I had received new experience, but I seemed to decide that this personal brand creation made me understand myself again. I found that I have changed a lot in the past few years in Australia. Since I came to Australia, I have lived by myself, and I have become much more independent. But I also lost some things. I used to love playing the guitar. I also bought a guitar after I came to Australia, but I hardly played it. It seems I have been shuttled in the different assignment all the time. Sometimes I even cried secretly because of my work, hoping that my logo could give me strength and make me more tougher in the future. I also hope I can pick up the hobby of playing the guitar again.
